The Lady Dukes jumped out early with two runs in the bottom of the first inning. Sydney Carter scored her team leading the 11th run of the season when E.J. Bankson hit a single to the left field, and third baseman Kayce Gray picked up the second RBI with a single to right field, scoring courtesy of runner Maria Tumminello.

The Lady Dukes struck again in the bottom of the fourth inning when first baseman Edythe Carr scored Kayce Gray from second with an RBI single to left field.

Junior pitcher Bankson pitched a complete game shutout, allowing six hits, two walks and striking out five Lady Dragons. The Lady Dukes’ defense stole the show with several great plays. Shortstop Alyssa Funai made a diving catch in the fifth inning to end a Dragon’s threat, and right fielder MaKayla Burks threw out a Dragon’s runner trying to advance to third in the sixth inning.

The Lady Dukes will face the Greensville Eagles at home on Thursday. The game is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
