Courtland VFD responds to farm vehicle accident

COURTLAND
Courtland Volunteer Fire Department units responded to a farm machinery accident on Tuesday. Station 4 was dispatched at 10:38 a.m. to the 18100 block of Ivor Road following reports of an overturned farm vehicle.

According to CVFD Capt. Matt Nixon, who established command upon arriving at the scene, the driver of the vehicle was injured but self-extricated with assistance prior to the arrival of emergency medical services. The occupant was then evaluated by the station’s medic and airlifted by VCU LifeEvac to a trauma center.

Fire Station 8 (BT86) also provided automatic aid.

The name of the occupant has not been released and the cause of the accident also remains undetermined.
