WINDSOR
Windsor High ninth grade students at Janet Lankford’s English class picked the school time capsule for their project in the next Expo of Deeper Learning. That’s a presentation of various topics in which students throughout Isle of Wight County present their detailed findings.

On Monday morning, they witnessed as Principal Daniel Soderholm removed the panel in front hall and took out a large box, which was sealed in 1984. Together with former principal Bill Worsham, they uncovered a school pennant, yearbook, faculty and student handbooks, unopened CDs and cassingles, which featured only one or two songs on a cassette.

For their part, the students in Lankford’s class will get to add to the capsule before it’s resealed. They have divided up responsibilities about will be included. Town history, a new yearbook, nature and a “virtual” tour of the school are scheduled.

The high school’s Expo is scheduled for Monday, April 24, beginning at 6 p.m.

Windsor Elementary School has already planned for its event on Tuesday, April 4, at 6 p.m. This is a correction from an earlier post that stated Monday.
