FRANKLIN — Winnifred Pauline “Winni” “Fred” Williams, 42, passed away on March 25, 2017, in Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk.

Winni was born in Tompkins County, New York, and was predeceased by her mother, Karen Ann Elliott, and her grandmother, Terry Sturgeon.

Winni was a veteran of the Virginia Army National Guard and the Army.

She was the director of Nursing at Waverly Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. and former assistant director at Courtland Healthcare and Rehabilitation.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Keith Allen Williams; her three daughters, Samantha Hancock, Jordan Williams and Calliya Williams, all of Franklin; her father, Richard C. Aletras, and his wife, Jan, of Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania; her grandfather, Edward Sturgeon of Courtland; two sisters, Christine Aletras of Stafford, Virginia; and Penni Leight of Texas; a brother, David Aletras of Clearwater, Florida; two half-brothers, Daniel Aletras and Nicholas Aletras, both of Tunkhannock; two step-sisters, Robin Zdaniewicz of Lake Winola, Pennsylvania; and Susanna Maser of Lexington, Kentucky; and a host of friends in and out of the medical community.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Friday March 31, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Jeremy Nairn officiating. The burial with military honors will follow at 3 p.m. in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home.
