Alene F. Everett

SUFFOLK — Alene Felton Everett, 93, passed away on March 24, 2017, in Southampton Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Gates County, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Timothy and Sue Eure Felton, and was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, I.A. Everett Jr.; three brothers, Atmill, Dick and Jack Felton; one sister, Gertrude Smith; one son-in-law, Robert Earl Rhodes; one niece, Renae Piland; and two nephews, Drew Piland and Amos Pierce.
She was a lifelong member of Eure Christian Church and had retired from Roses 5 & 10 in Franklin.
Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Annie Sue Blythe (Mac), Maggie E. Rhodes and Sharon E. Piersa (Billy), all of Franklin; four grandchildren, Teresa R. Unser (Jerry), Delbert E. Blythe (Angela), Sherry P. Lee (Jamie) and Holly Doyle; 10 great-grandchildren, Dillon, Amber and Winston Blythe, Miranda, James V., and Morgan Lee, Kimberly and Jerome Unser, Trevor Lee Harrell and Alayna Doyle; a special friend and companion, Robert E. Goodman; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. on Monday March 27, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Wayne Gardner and Rev. James Hyatt Jr officiating. Burial followed at Southampton Memorial Park.
The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and suggests that memorial donations be made to Eure Christian Church, Suffolk Fire and Rescue, Delaware Hunt Club or charity of your choice.
