Wilson Presidents topple Indians

The Woodrow Wilson Presidents defeated the Southampton Indians 3-1 on a brisk Thursday afternoon. The Presidents managed three runs on five Indians errors and four hits.

Wilson’s Mario Palmer was able to connect on a fastball to slap a line drive to centerfield for the teams final runs of the game. Nash Warren earned a no decision with the start while striking out seven on the mound while Jeffrey Peden was saddled with the loss while striking out three.

Wilson’s Aaron Moore added two hits on the day and Travis Baker also had a hit.

Southampton’s Jesse Martin and Wesley Pierce had one hit a piece.

Joe Lafave earned the win on the mound for the Presidents.

Wilson is now 1-0 overall and the Indians are 0-1.

Southampton hosts Colonial Heights on Thursday, March 23, and the Broncos of Franklin on Friday, March 24.
