FRANKLIN — Carol Edwina Friis, 81, went to be with the Lord on March 11, 2017.

She’s preceded in death by her parents Edwin B. Rassmann and Ellen M. Roe and her son John David Friis.
Carol retired as an engineer with AT&T after many years of dedicated service, and was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Franklin, Virginia.
She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Whaleyville Chapter No. 137, Suffolk, and Motrose Chapter No. 176, Richmond; and Past Queen in 2001 of Athaliah Temple No. 114, Daughters of the Nile in Orlando, Florida.
Carol leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, J. James Friis; children, James Carl Friis of Denver, Colorado; Mark Edwin Friis of Charlotte, North Carolina, daughter-in-law, Gena F. Friis of Urbana, Ohio; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
The memorial service will be on Friday, March 24, at 1:30 p.m., in the Masonic Home Chapel, Richmond, with the reception to follow at 2 p.m.
