BOYKINS
The condition of the driver involved in a single-car accident on Thursday in Boykins remains unknown.

Around 9:14 a.m., Southampton County deputies responded to a single vehicle accident on General Thomas Highway in front of the Boykins Manor Mobile Home Park. This information comes from Lt. Camden Cobb, spokesman.

He added that deputies observed a Honda Civic that had left the roadway, overturned and struck a utility pole.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was flown out for treatment and the nature and extent of that person’s injuries is not known by this office.

Charges are pending as a result of the deputies investigation.

Dominion Power responded for the utility pole that was struck and Verizon responded for damaged lines that were attached to the pole.
