Leona D. Harrell

FRANKLIN — Leona Bryant Dunn Harrell, 92, a longtime resident of Capron, Virginia, and who resided at East Pavilion Nursing Home for the past 10 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 7, 2017.
She was born in Hopewell, Virginia, on March 12, 1924.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl G. Harrell Sr., and their son, Earl G. Harrell Jr.
Survivors include her sons, Larry D. Harrell (Sandy), Dennis B. Harrell (Beth) and Randy D. Harrell (Jennifer) and daughter-in-law, Nancy Harrell. She is also survived by her daughter, Pamela H. Stallings (Gordon).
The Lord blessed her with 13 wonderful grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She was a gift to each of these and they were blessed to have a “Grandma” — “GaGa” that was so caring and nurturing to each and every one of them.
Leona was a member of Capron Baptist Church and served her church faithfully for many years. She also babysat and loved many of the children that grew up in the Capron community.
The viewing will be in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, on Thursday, March 9, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The funeral will be in Capron Baptist Church on Friday, March 10, at 1 p.m., followed by burial at Capron Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of Randy and Jennifer Harrell, 28101 Delaware Road, Franklin.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial donations be made to the East Pavilion Activities Fund in Franklin, Virginia.
The family wishes to thank the hospital staff at Southampton Memorial Hospital for her brief stay there, and the entire staff at the East Pavilion who loved and cared for her so faithfully over the last 10 years. They were all such a blessing to her and her family.
