Jesse K. Hellyer Jr. from the Richmond General Office of New York Life has received the office’s 2016 Agent of the Year award. This award recognizes the agent who has achieved the top production commissions among all agents at the company’s Richmond General Office within a calendar year.

“We applaud Jesse Hellyer for this achievement,” said Craig Forman, managing partner of the company’s Richmond General Office. “Being acknowledged as the Agent of the Year is a significant accomplishment. He received this recognition for his expertise working with local families and businesses to help them prepare to meet their financial needs.”

At the recent Annual Kickoff Dinner, Hellyer also was recognized as a Life Superstar, Annuity Silver Elite and Long Term Care Elite recipient.

During 2016 Hellyer  qualified once again as a Life and Qualifying Member of the Financial Services Industry’s prestigious Million Dollar Round Table.

And for the first time in his career Jesse was named a member of the 2016 Chairman’s Council of New York Life. Members of the elite Chairman’s Council rank in the top three percent of New York Life’s sales force of more than 12,000 licensed agents in sales achievement.

Hellyer has been a New York Life agent since 1993 and serves families and businesses in southeastern Virginia and the surrounding area.

He is serving another term as president of NAIFA Petersburg/Tri-cities, an organization representing the interests of those involved in the financial service industry. In 2016, Hellyer was a board member of the Franklin Southampton Area Chamber of Commerc,e and recently was elected by the Chamber to serve as a co-vice president of Membership for 2017.

Hellyer is the lay leader of Wakefield United Methodist Church and is married to Loretta; they live in Waverly, and have two sons, Quinton and Martin.
