Elizabeth A. Briggs

FRANKLIN — Elizabeth Aaron Briggs, 52, passed away on Jan. 24, 2017, in Greenville, North Carolina.
She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of James F. Briggs Jr. and the late Mary Winston Johnson Briggs. Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Nancy B. Petters (Mike); two nieces, Sarah P. Fletcher (Dan) and Caroline G. Petters (fiancé Chris); a great-niece Marin E. Fletcher; and a long-time friend, N. Michelle Roberts.
She was a graduate of Franklin High School and Mary Baldwin College, and received her master’s degree from East Carolina University where she subsequently taught in the Library Science Department.
The memorial service celebrating her life will be on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 11 a.m., in the chapel at Franklin Baptist Church in Franklin, Virginia. The service will be conducted by Rev. Steven R. Gibson.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church parlor. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Franklin Baptist Church Endowment Fund, 208 N. High St., Franklin, VA 23851, or to a charity of your choice.
