ZUNI — Geneva J. Walton 87, of River Run Trail, died on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017, at Consulate Nursing Facility.

She retired from the Isle of Wight County Public School System after 24 years as a bus driver, and the Isle of Wight Health Department as a nurse’s assistant.

She was the widow of the late Robie Walton, and preceded in death by a brother, Kemper Jones, and a sister, Ursula Picot.

Leaving to cherish wonderful memories are three sons, Robie Walton (Barbara) of Suffolk; Joel Walton of Zuni; and Tony Walton (Wendy) of Windsor; one daughter, Vanessa Moss (William) of Chesapeake; three sisters: Sarah Lawrence of Suffolk; Regenia Lawrence of Windsor; and Delores Bolling (Randolph) of Suffolk; one brother, James C. Brodie (Barbara) of Franklin; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Roxanna Walton of Carrsville and Margaret Walton of Zuni; one brother-in-law, Wallace Picot of Carrsville; two aunts, Lee Ather Stokes and Rosebell Jones; and host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be on Friday, Jan. 27, at 11 a.m., in Chapel Grove UCC Windsor, Virginia. The committal and benediction will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive family and friends at the home.

A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Inc., 224 S. Main St.
