Angela Cross Cobb has, like so many other people, experienced troubles in life — periods of difficulty and stress that tested her physically and emotionally. But personal faith in God has helped her climb toward mountains.
She’s shared those struggles in her first book, “The Valley Experience,” and a celebration is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 21, at 2 p.m. White Oak Springs, 26125 Delaware Road, Franklin. The party will be hosted by comedian Gary Mitchell, and feature songs by Chiquita Cross and Antuan Barnes. A second book signing will be on Feb. 4 at the Urban Moon Bookstore in the Chesapeake Square Mall.
Cobb spoke recently about a couple of valleys, one of which was during 2008 when she needed treatment in a psychiatric ward of a hospital. Thankfully, she did not have to become dependent on any kind of medicines because of the ordeal.
Then there was the time four years later while she was carrying twins, but only one survived. That child is Jasmine Cobb.
Angela remembered, laughing, that her husband, Warren Cobb, had to deliver their second child in a car. That little girl is Destiny Cobb.
“Never give up,” said the author on how to survive and thrive. “Even when I was down low in a valley, my spiritual connection — my faith — remained strong in God. I knew He would help me overcome every struggle, every obstacle that was before me. I knew at the end I would have victory.”
Copies will be available at the party, of course, but to otherwise support her endeavor, call 556-4904 or email angelacross85@gmail.com.
