SEBRELL
Already the month’s more than half over, but that’s OK because it puts you that much closer to the 62nd annual dinner and auction presented by the Sebrell Civic Club.

Barbecue chicken, Brunswick stew, barbecue pork and, of course, homemade desserts. Makes the mouth water just to think on it. Take out meals will be available.

Raffles for ham and $100 in cash will also be featured.

The event is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. and will take place in the Sebrell Community Center. Tickets are available at the door.

The sale starts after the meal at 7 o’clock.

Profits will go toward scholarships, the Courtland Youth Baseball Association, mission field work and the documentary “The Peanut Story… In a Nutshell.” Some money is also used for maintenance of the community center itself.

According to Bruce Phillips, one of the most recent beneficiaries of the club’s generosity is a child in need of a heart transplant.
