Franklin man arrested for attempted armed robbery

FRANKLIN
The Franklin Police Department has arrested a Franklin man on charges of attempted robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony following officers’ investigation of an armed robbery at Love’s Travel Center on Sunday.
Franklin Police officers responded to the business, located at 2307 South St., Franklin, at 5:01 a.m. According to Capt. Tim Whitt, spokesman for the Franklin Police Department, the officers’ investigation revealed that a black male suspect referenced a note demanding money from the cashier. He then opened his vest and displayed a pistol tucked into his waistband. The suspect left the business without getting any money.
Dashawn J. Johnson, 22, of Washington Street, was arrested there without incident on Sunday, and a firearm was recovered.
