FRANKLIN — Deacon Ernestine W. Orr of Edgehill Drive, passed away on Jan. 7, 2017, while a patient in Sentara Obici Hospital.

She was born on Oct. 21, 1938, to the late Ernest Webb and Hattie D. Drungo.
Ernestine was a graduate of Isle of Wight Public Schools and Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she served on the Deacon’s Ministry. “Tine” as she was affectionately called, was also a member of the Lambda Psi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.
Deacon Orr taught in the Richmond Public and Franklin City School Systems.
She is survived by her husband, Dawes L. Orr of Franklin; three sons, Donnell Webb (Beverly), Gregory Webb and Alton Webb, all of Richmond; one daughter, Tawanna Bernard (Jerome) of Franklin; grandchildren; one uncle, Robert Davis of Washington, D.C.; and many other loving relatives.
The homegoing service will be on Sunday, Jan. 15, at 2 p.m., in First Baptist Church, 318 Hall St., Franklin, with the pastor, the Reverend D. Shawrod Riddick Jr. delivering the eulogy. The committal and benediction will be in Southview Cemetery.
A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Inc., 224 South Main St.
