Winter hasn’t been here a month and already snow’s in the forecast. More accurately, the National Weather Service in Wakefield is calling for several inches this weekend. Reportedly, Winter Storm Helena has been making a name for itself (herself?), having already traveled across most of the country.

With some luck, it might prove to be nothing more than a dusting for us.

Nevertheless, being prepared is always a good idea. A few examples:

• Do your grocery shopping and errands before any storm.

• Stay off the roads unless necessary.

• If you’re going to have to drive, proceed with caution during and after any snowfall.

In the meantime, we’ll have to just wait and see what nature will bring us.
