We are going on record and claiming that 2016 may in fact have been the craziest year on record.
David Bowie died. Prince died. Zsa Zsa died. Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fischer, mother and daughter, died one day apart.
Franklin got a new mayor. Southampton County got a new superintendent. Newsoms held an election, but nobody ran.
Alan Thicke died. Florence Henderson died. Gwen Ifill died. So did Leonard Cohen.
Solar farms. Camp Parkway. Hunting with dogs.
Bob Dylan won a Nobel Prize. The City of Cleveland won a championship in a professional sport. Donald J. Trump won Time Magazine’s Person of the Year.
Hurricane Matthew wiped out half the roads in Western Tidewater. The USDA wiped out Bear Path Acres.
Gene Wilder died. Garry Marshall died. Morley Safer died.
Hillary Clinton’s emails went missing. Apparently, Russia found some of them.
Merle Haggard, Patty Duke and Glenn Frey all died.
Somehow, Keith Richards did not.
The Franklin City School Board fired the superintendent. Franklin City Council fired the school board.
The Chicago Cubs won the World Series for the first time in 108 years.
Fidel Castro died.
Deflategate. The Rio Olympics.
Donald J. Trump was elected President of the United States.
We rest our case.
