Franklin police and EMS officers transported a 26-year-old Franklin man to an area trauma center for gunshot wounds to his abdomen and left arm following a call from the victim’s grandmother on Tuesday at 9:49 p.m.
According to Capt. Tim Whitt of the Franklin Police Department, the victim alleges he was in the back yard of a blue house on Laurel Street with his friend, who goes by the street name “Frog,” when he was approached by an unknown black male, who produced a gun and shot the victim.
Following the shooting, the victim arranged for a ride to his residence on Bruce Street from an unknown person in a white pickup truck. The victim’s grandmother called police once she noticed he was bleeding.
The police have described the victim’s injuries as serious, but believe he will live. The name of the victim and the facility at which he is being treated are being withheld per Franklin Police Department policy on shootings for the victim’s protection.
The police department is still investigating the case, but the victim is being less than cooperative.
Capt. Whitt is asking anyone with information about this crime to call the Franklin Police Department at 562-8575 or the Franklin Crime Solvers at 562-8599.
Information that leads to an arrest can earn the caller a cash reward with the caller remaining anonymous.
