Pedestrian hit by car dies from injuries

A 21-year-old man has died from injuries after being hit by a vehicle on the night of Christmas Day, according to a report from Capt. Tim Whitt, spokesman for the Franklin Police Department.
Officers had responded at approximately 8:47 to a report of a person being struck by a car in the 600 block of Hunterdale Road. On arrival, they found Kenneth Lawrence Charles Moorman of the 31000 block of O’Berry Church Road suffering from serious injuries.
The investigation revealed that Moorman was a passenger in a vehicle being driven by his girlfriend. For reasons unknown, he got out of the car on Hunterdale Road and began walking north in the roadway. A vehicle being operated by a 73-year-old Courtland resident was heading south, the driver did not see Moorman in the road and struck him. The driver immediately pulled over and waited for police to arrive.
Moorman was transported to Southampton Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
All parties involved are cooperating with police.
No charges have been placed, the accident remains under investigation.
