IVOR — Charlotte Lowe Hohman, 78, passed away on Dec. 19, 2016, at her home after a long and difficult illness. Charlotte has gone to her eternal home with her Lord and Savior.
Charlotte was born in Franklin, reared in Norfolk and was a graduate of Granby High School.
She was a daughter of the late Harry Shelton Lowe and Grace Lowe Hartman.
Charlotte had retired as a plant manager for Weyerhaeuser Corporation in California.
She was a very active member at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Franklin.
Charlotte was an extraordinary woman of many talents who was loved by all with whom she came to know.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 31 years, Daniel R. Hohman; one daughter, Jennifer Freeman (James) of Carrsville, Virginia; one son, George M. Smith III of Windsor, Virginia; and Dan’s children, Angela H. Gronda (Ralph) of Michigan; Dr. Daniel J. Hohman of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Theresa M. Hohman of Seattle, Washington; and Christina M. Hohman of Plymouth, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Mathis, Grace Mathis, Haley Mathis, Maria Gronda, Grant Gronda, Ryan Kabodian and George M. Smith IV; one sister, Shirley Wilkinson, and one brother, Jay Hartman, both of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and a host of Lowes, Raifords and Joyners in Southampton County.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 27, in St. Jude’s Catholic Church with Father Charles Saglio officiating.
The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home, 206 W. 4th Ave., Franklin, from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 26, and suggests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Catholic Church, 1014 Clay St., Franklin, VA 23851.
