CAPRON — Blanche Rose Kirkland, 87, passed away on Dec. 18, 2016, at the East Pavilion in Franklin.
Mrs. Kirkland was born in Capron, and was a daughter of the late James Henry and Lillie Chitty Kirkland.
She was a former resident of Norfolk, and was retired from General Electric.
Blanche was a member of Capron Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Ruben, Linwood and Paul Kirkland; and three sisters, Mabel Drake, Gladys Starke and Lizzie K. Terry.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
The graveside service was conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, at the Capron Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of Billy and Debbie Sutton, 18196 Elm Ave., Capron, and suggests that memorial donations be made to either the Capron Baptist Church, P.O. Box 273 Capron, VA 23829, or The Alzheimer’s Association, 6350 Center Dr., Suite 102 Norfolk, VA 23502 .
