Not too late to donate to our food and toy drive

There is still plenty of time to bring your non-perishable food, gently used/clean clothes and new, unopened toys to The Tidewater News office for our second annual holiday food and toy drive.

All items collected will be donated to Community Harvest Outreach, a nonprofit organization in Windsor that seeks to provide for the basic needs of the underprivileged in the community, including food and clothing to those in need. According to its website, Community Harvest provided services to 72,904 households in December 2012, distributing a total of 300,408 pounds of food, 18,000 coats, 42,130 pieces of clothing, 3,237 shoes, 5,471 toys, 1,703 school supplies, and 162 gift and gas cards.

Donations will be accepted through Tuesday, Dec. 13, and may be dropped off at our office at 1000 Armory Drive in Franklin during our normal business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Tidewater News would also like to thank Greg Scott and the Cover 3 Foundation for their generous contribution this year.
