Jason Catron, Mark David Williams and David Wise aren’t necessarily known individually for what they do, but put them together and they become the Canadian trio of tenors better known around the world as Tenore.

The group will bestow their vocal talents on all who attend their concert on Monday, Dec. 5, at the auditorium of Southampton High School in Courtland. The show, which begins at 7:30 p.m., is the latest offering from the Franklin-Southampton Concert Association

Their coming together is the result of work by Jill Ann Siemens, who is credited as founder of a separate set of singers known as the Canadian Tenors.

In a statement included in their press material, Siemens explained why she thinks Tenore has such appeal.

“All the world loves a beautiful song and when the song is sung by three inordinately talented and handsome young men, all the better.”

Most recently Catron, Williams and Wise have recorded, a holiday album, “Christmas with You,” which features Heather Headley, a Grammy award-winning vocal pop singer on the title.

Tenore has earned its accolades, including four awards: Fan Choice of the Year; Seasonal Album of the Year; Traditional Album of the Year; and Song of the Year.

The new year will be here before you know it, and the FSA has more talented performers coming our way.

  • Combing the fiddle with being funny is Chris Pendleton, who will include a nod to the Jack Benny. Her show is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 7, at 7:30 p.m.
  • Pianist Thomas Pandolfi will weave a musical tapestry when he brings “Burt, Barry and Beyond” on Sunday, Feb. 26, at 3:30 p.m. The music of Bacharach and Manilow will be featured.
  • Through the continued generosity of the Camp Foundation, conductor Benjamin Rous and the Virginia Symphony will bring a memorable performance on Saturday, March 11, at 7:30 p.m.

Association director Nancy Rowe is not only urging regular members to re-subscribe, but also is calling for new membership. The cost is still $50 per adult; $10 for students.

There are, of course, sponsorship opportunities as well, which can include extra tickets for your guests.
