FRANKLIN
Who needs canned Christmas music at overcrowded malls when you can get a live performance in a comfortable surrounding?

The Navy’s U.S. Fleet Forces Band returns to Western Tidewater for a Holiday Pops concert. The program takes place on Sunday, Dec. 11, starting at 3 p.m., and will be in Franklin High School, 310 Crescent Drive.

The U.S. Fleet Forces Wind Ensemble, led by Lt. Robert J. Coats, is the largest of the U.S. Fleet Forces Band’s performing units. Those of you who saw and heard them perform in Southampton High School in 2014 can testify to the variety of music and fun that everyone had then.

Admission is free, but tickets are required. Contact The Tidewater News at 562-3187 or drop by during hours from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1000 Armory Drive.
