SHARPSBURG, N.C. — James Whitley Britt, 85, passed away on Monday, Nov. 21, 2016.

James served his country with honor and pride with the U.S. Navy, and he was a man with much grace and love for life.

Survivors include his sister, Alice Oakes of Ivor, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson, North Carolina. The Revs. Rusty Russell and Kenneth Williams will officiate. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park,Wilson.
