Suspect charged in apparent murder of children’s mother

A Franklin man has been arrested and charged in the apparent stabbing death of a woman who is the mother of their two children, according to Maj. Gene Drewery, spokesman for the Southampton County Sheriff’s office.

Bobby Boone Jr., 30, had been taken into custody this morning after deputies discovered Tanisha Freeman, 25, dead in her apartment.
Shortly after 7 a.m., the office had received a call about a possible homicide on Oak Trail in the Stevens Woods apartment complex. The woman appeared to have been stabbed several times.
The department official indicated the incident appeared to be the result of a domestic dispute.
An investigation led deputies to the suspect. He is being held at the county Jail and will be arraigned in Southampton County General District Court on Tuesday, Nov. 22, at 1 p.m.
