CARRSVILLE
Beginning Monday, Carrsville Elementary students began attending Windsor Elementary School as repairs to Carrsville are being finalized from a fire that occurred early Wednesday morning last week.

According to Lynn Briggs, Isle of Wight County Schools’ director of Gifted Services, Community and Media Relations, the school system had developed a plan to accommodate Carrsville Elementary students and staff at Windsor Elementary on a temporary basis. Details of the arrangement were shared with parents through the Connect 5 Alert system.

Carrsville teachers spent Friday preparing their classrooms for this week.

Carrsville students will not dismiss until 4 p.m. while at Windsor Elementary, and parents who pick up their children at Windsor will have to come into the atrium, sign their children out, and wait for them by the library.

Buses are runing as usual, however, parents were told to expect some delay in their students returning home.

Kangaroo Kids will be open for before-and-after-school care during this time, and will be located in the Windsor Elementary gym.

Briggs stated late Monday evening that “based on the information received from the company making repairs to Carrsville Elementary School, students and staff will be returning to Carrsville on Monday, Nov. 14.”Students and staff will continue at Windsor Elementary Wednesday and Thursday this week, with Friday being a scheduled holiday in observance of Veterans Day.
