The sound that could be heard around the world on Wednesday night was the collective cry of joy from Cubs fans when their team won its first World Series in 108 years.

If ever there were truly a curse of some kind on the Chicago players, that spell was broken in the seventh game when the Cubs won 8-7 in the 10th inning over the Cleveland Indians in Ohio.

That will be event the fans will remember and talk about for decades to come. We share their joy if for no other reason than the Cubs have been underdogs of sorts for all these decades.
