Geraldine C. Perry

HACKENSACK, N.J. — Mrs. Geraldine Cutler Perry, on Oct.7, 2016, departed this life leaving a permanent imprint of love and joy in the hearts of so many.

She was born on Sept. 27, 1939, to Samuel James Cutler and Viola Cutler.

Geraldine worked for St. Regis (later owned by International Paper) until her retirement in the late 1980s.

On June 11, 1988, she married James N. Perry Sr. of Franklin, Virginia. Together they owned and operated Geri’s Christian Bookstore, where she shared her joy of creating decorative flower arrangements.

James and Geraldine were united in holy matrimony until his untimely passing in March 2002.

Geraldine attended her family’s place of worship, Mount Tabor Baptist Church of Newsoms, Virginia, until she moved to New Jersey with her daughter, Melissa. There she worshiped at The Paramus Bible Church in Paramus, New Jersey.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; an older brother, Mansfield Cutler; an older sister, Shirley DeBerry; a younger sister, Catherine Hunt; and a nephew, Brian DeBerry.

She is survived by the youngest sibling, June Liverman of Freeport, New York; her daughter, Melissa Washington of Lodi, New Jersey; three grandchildren, Sasha Ramsey of Brooklyn, New York; Jasmine Burney of Little Ferry, New Jersey; and Sharod Perry of Franklin. Dear to heart were her nieces and nephews, Charlene Wiley, Mara Peterson, Willie “Bobby” Boone, Terrence Liverman and Maria Queen.

The homegoing will be at noon on Saturday, Oct. 22, in Move of God Church, 224 S. Main St., with Elder Karen Lee delivering the message of comfort; Apostle Tyrone Hart is the host pastor.

The committal and benediction will be in Southview Cemetery.

A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Inc., 224 S. Main St., Franklin.
