FRANKLIN — Anna Pawelko, 96, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Oct. 16, 2016, in East Pavilion Nursing Home.

She was born in New York City on Jan. 14, 1920, to the late Mary (Pawelko) and Andrew Czuchnoski.

She married William Pawelko in 1945 at Saint Brigid’s Roman Catholic Church. Her husband Bill passed away in 1970.

Anna was also predeceased by her brother, Michael Clement and sister-in-law, Dolores Clement.

She is survived by her brother, Edward Clement and wife, Rachel, of Franklin; nephews, Christopher Clement and his wife, Patty; Matthew Clement and his wife, Jill; niece, Barbara Shea and her husband, Michael; and great-nieces and great-nephews Tracey, Timothy, Ashley, Taylor, Michael and Lydia.

She was a wonderful cook who taught the fine art of pierogi-making to the next generation.

Anna enjoyed knitting and crocheting and made many beautiful items for family members to remember her by. Always a snappy dresser, Anna loved things that sparkled.

After taking care of her parents until they passed away, she moved to Heritage Hills in Somers, New York, where she and her best friend Gertrude participated in many activities, including dancing, yoga and going on day-trips. She eventually moved to Virginia to live with her brother, Edward and his wife, Rachel.

She will be interred next to her husband and parents in Calgary Cemetery in New York in a private family ceremony.
