Linda Gunn Gavin, 61, passed away on Oct. 17, 2016, in Chesapeake General Hospital.

Linda was a native of Southampton County and was a member of Burdette Baptist Church.

She was a fiscal technician for the Virginia Department of Transportation, and was retired from International Paper.

Linda was predeceased by her father, Marvin B. Gunn Sr., her husbands, Elwood Lee “Foots” Gavin and Stanley A. Campbell; and a brother, G. Earl Gunn.

Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Lillian Crumpler Gunn; one sister, Vanessa G. Bailey (William); one brother, Marvin B. Gunn Jr. (Dawn); two sisters-in-law, Susan B. Gunn and Ruth G. Ezzell; Linda’s children and spouses, Elwood Craig Gavin, Cabot Gavin and Melody Price, Charles and Heather Gavin; grandchildren and spouses, Caitlin and Brian Argalas, Mari Katherine Gavin, Hudson and Ashley Gavin, Barbara Gavin, Blaire and Aaron Bycoffe, Curtis and Jensen Price, Samuel Gavin, Matthew Gavin, Nicholas Gavin, Sophia Gavin; great-grandchildren, Holton Gavin, Caimbree Gavin, Natalie Argalas, Mackenzie Argalas, Benjamin Bycoffe, Sadie Bycoffe, Stella Price; nieces and nephews, Celia Sadler (Lundy), April Carr, Jason Gunn (Desi), Kevin Gunn (Erin), Hillary Gunn (Brad), Crystal Brownfield (John); great-nieces and great-nephews, Grayson Marston, Alex Marston, Logan Carr, Kyleigh Gunn, Hunter Brownfield, Kenzie Gunn, River Gunn, Teagan Gunn, Tucker Brownfield; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; her Sunset Beach family on the Eastern Shore; and her VDOT family.

The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 21, in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Wright officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 4416 Expressway Dr., Virginia Beach, VA 23452.
