FRANKLIN
Franklin Southampton Economic Development Inc. hosted members of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership for an update on available industrial properties in the area, and partnered with Isle of Wight Economic Development to host an Employment Law Lunch and Learn on Oct. 12 at the Franklin Business Center.

Kristina Vaquera with Jackson-Lewis P.C. presented information on the new Federal Labor Law, Workman’s Compensation and the Americans with Disabilities Act during the Lunch and Learn. A total of 16 local business leaders and community members from across the region attended.

The tour of available industrial sites was presented in conjunction with a familiarization tour for the Hampton Roads region, organized by the Hampton Roads Economic Development Alliance. At the end of the tour, the VDEP staff were able to also tour the recently remodeled Franklin Business Center.
