Excellence after high school merits recognition

So often it seems that after high school or college, the work and community service that people perform goes woefully unrecognized. Thankfully, there are individuals who want to correct that locally, and so they established the Franklin Community Wall of Excellence.
Earlier this year, the call went out for candidates to be the first of having their names posted on a new way to honor graduates of Franklin and Hayden high schools. There was also room for people who didn’t attend either, but still exemplified the principles and philosophy of both places.
All the names of the chosen honorees will be announced tonight during Homecoming when Franklin faces Sussex Central on Armory Field; game starts at 7 o’clock.
On Saturday, the honorees or their representatives will be feted with a banquet.
Later, their names and pictures will be permanently established at Franklin High School for all to see.
We believe students need inspiration and role models. Having these people within view can put them in mind as a reminder that there’s life after high school and it can be one of fulfilling service and greatness worth imitating.
