CHESAPEAKE — Mrs. Shirley C. Harris of Keaton Way departed this life on Oct. 10, 2016,while resting peacefully in her home.

On De. 4, 1946, she was born in Franklin, to Algie Cutler and Beatrice Cutler Hill.
Shirley was employed with Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia as a supervisor for 15 years and retired in 2009.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emery Harris Jr.; and one son, Gary Harris.
Shirley is survived by two daughters, Lavonne Y. Harris of Chesapeake and Rhonda L. Scott (Dennis) of Zuni; one son, Anthony Harris of Portsmouth; four sisters, Jean Rooks, Joan Parker, Dyanne Lewis (John) and Thelma Sharpe; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
The homegoing service will be held on Friday, Oct. 14, at noon, in East End Church of God, 410 East St., Franklin, where Bishop S.D. Willis is the host pastor. The committal and benediction will be in Southview Cemetery.
On the day of service, her remains will rest in the church by 10 a.m.
A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by Wm. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Inc., 224 S. Main St., Franklin.
