CAPRON
A first responder is defined as a certified, often volunteer, emergency, medical or law enforcement officer who is the first to arrive at an accident or disaster scene. At Capron Elementary, we brought in our local first responders to help our younger students understand what they do, how to call 911, what to do if there is a fire, and most importantly have a family plan in case of a fire.
Students were most excited to see the lights and hear the sirens. Many questions were asked by the students and they were given an assignment: learn your street address.
Special thanks to Joey Holland with the City of Chesapeake Fire Department and a volunteer for the Capron Fire Department, Southampton County Police Officer Dowell and Officer Holland and Southampton County Dispatcher Terry Rose.
