FRANKLIN — The Rev. Ronald Lee Wiley, 79, passed away on Sept. 17, 2016, at Sentara Virginia Beach Hospital.

He was born in Alexandria, Virginia, to the late H. Granville Wiley and Dorothy J. Wiley. He was also predeceased by a brother, Harlan G. Wiley III.
He grew up in Vienna, Virginia, and was a proud graduate of Fairfax High School Class of 1955. He graduated from Northwestern College, Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1969 and earned a Master of Divinity from Bethel Seminary, St. Paul, Minnesota in 1969.
Ronald served the ministry in Cushing, Minnesota, and Coon Rapids, Minnesota. He also served churches in Virginia; Reynolds Memorial and F.T. Baptist, Sperryville as well as Mt. Gilead, Goochland and Colossee Baptist, Windsor.
While in Sperryville, he was active with the Rescue Squad and Mental Health Association. He also served on the State of Virginia Mental Health Board. He was active in Windsor Ruritan Club and always active within his church community.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Elaine; daughter, Ronda Wiley of Charlottesville, Virginia; their sons, Stephen (Cheryl) and Marc (Donna); grandchildren, Kelly, Katherine, Hannah, Stuart and Bradley, all of Richmond, Virginia; his sister, Judith Horton (Henry); and cousins, Daria Barnes and Sharon Ronald.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Dr. Roger Crump officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery, Goochland.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and suggests that memorial donations be made to Sycamore Baptist Church or the Franklin YMCA.
