A Portsmouth man is in custody on a charge of hurting an elderly man in connection with an attack late last month, according to a press release from Capt. Tim Whitt, spokesman for the Franklin Police Department.
Malik Hassan Asbury, 18, has been arrested and charged with malicious wounding and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in connection with the Aug. 27 attack on a 71-year-old man at the New Dixie Mart Exxon at 1500 Armory Drive, Franklin.
According to Whitt, the victim was cleaning his car when Asbury allegedly approached him from behind and struck him with an unknown object.
