WINDSOR
On Friday, Prince Edward County defeated Windsor High 62-7.

The game started approximately 30 to 45 minutes late due to the intense heat of the day, but the PE Eagles seemed undaunted as they earned 27 points with little more than 3 minutes on the clock in the first quarter. By halftime, they were ahead 48-0.

The Dukes would get their only score in the second half from senior Devawn Cosbert. He had 78 yards in rushing; and three attempts in passing with two completions for 3 yards. Sophomore Nick Donovan made six attempts in passing with only one completion for 13 yards.

In receiving, freshman Malik Lee caught three for a total of 16 yards.

Coach Chuck Parrish is not discouraged by this loss.

“We have a young team and our guys will work hard to get better each week,” he said.

The next game will be on Friday, Sept. 2, a Nandua High School.
