CONWAY, N.C. — Peggy Ann Cornett Cook, 72, entered into her eternal rest with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016.

Peggy was born on Aug. 3, 1944, in Southampton County, Virginia, the daughter of the late

Horace Sheffield Cornett and Virginia May Holt Cornett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert William Cook; a brother, Russell Cornett; a grandson, Dakota Draper; a brother-in-law, Ted Hawk; and son-in-law, Gary Baines.

She was a homemaker and dearly loved by all of her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Lisa Baines, Betty Grant (James) and Joanie Navitsky (Eric); two sons, Sam Cook (Cheryl) and Timmy Cook (Tami); three sisters, Patricia Bausone (Geno), Linda Hawk and Mary Jones (Ray); nine grandchildren, Charlene Barnes, Brandon Cook, Devin Cook, Nicole Cook, Ashley Cook, Layla Cook, Jacob Draper, Dillon Draper and Brent Draper; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Shifflett and Ryder Barnes; and many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate Peggy’s life were on Monday, Aug. 29, at 2 p.m. at Jackson Baptist Church in Jackson, North Carolina

The family received friends after the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Jackson Baptist Church.

Arrangements are being handled by Massey Funeral Home in Jackson.
