ROANOKE — In the wee hours of Monday morning, Aug. 8, 2016, surrounded by his adoring family, the Lord called Earl home, after a brief battle with cancer.

He was born on Aug. 11, 1945, in Petersburg, Virginia.

Visitation will be on Friday, Aug. 12, in The Church of the Holy Spirit, 6011 Merriman Road, Roanoke, Virginia, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Celebration of Earl’s life will be on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 11a.m. in The Church of the Holy Spirit. Graveside service with military honors will be at 2:30 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Evergreen, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Carilion Clinic, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic, 1906 Belleview Ave. SE, Roanoke, VA 24014, or the Wounded Warriors Project, POB 758517, Topeka, KS, 66675.
