The National Night Out event in Franklin will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 2.

Sgt. Scott Halverson of the FPD said that Frank Davis of the Parks and Rec Department will host a gathering at his home on 715 Gardner St., starting at 7 p.m. Five to seven officers are anticipated to attend with members of the local fire department.

Windsor Police will host a program from 5 to 7 p.m. Chief R.D. Riddle said the event will be on the lawn in front of the Twin Ponds housing section at the intersection of North Court Street and Courthouse Highway. Free hot dogs, health screenings and a bounce house for the children will be featured. Fire and rescue representatives have also been invited to be present.
