FRANKLIN
The Franklin City Council will hold a public hearing at its regular meeting on Monday, July 25, at 7 p.m. to hear nominations for the vacant Ward 6 council seat, according to a news release from Randy Martin, city manager of Franklin.

Nominees must be qualified to vote in this special election, must have been a resident of Virginia for at least the past year and must be a resident of Ward 6.

Nominees will be considered by the other members of City Council for appointment to serve as the interim Ward 6 representative until they can be chosen by special election.

Any person who desires to nominate an eligible individual is encouraged to attend the hearing.
