FRANKLIN
Community members and church leaders met at the Franklin Police Department on Thursday evening to hold a prayer vigil for members of the local police force.

The Rev. Nathan Decker of High Street United Methodist Church led the effort to organize the service. He was joined by Apostle Peggy Scott of Fellowship Around the World Church, Bishop James Ashby of Franklin Church of God and Pastor Keith Rose of Pine Level Baptist Church.

Approximately 30 citizens attended the service, the Honorable Frank Rabil, mayor of Franklin, among them.

Chief Phillip Hardison thanked those present “for their efforts to join together as a community, for their concern regarding recent events which have occurred in our country, and their continued support of the Franklin Police Department and its members.”

Capt. Tim Whitt said, “The vigil was a wonderful show of support and a great opportunity for members of the department and the community to come together in fellowship.”
