Vehicle strikes tree near Holland

Officers with the Suffolk Police Department responded on Friday morning to a single vehicle accident in the 7700 block of South Quay Road near Holland.

Emergency communications received the call at 11:46 a.m. advising of the accident involving a Chevrolet Impala that was traveling westbound when it left the roadway, overturned and struck a tree, according to a news release.

The adult male driver and two juveniles received emergency medical assessment and treatment by Suffolk Fire and Rescue personnel. The adult was ground transported to Sentara Obici Hospital, from where he was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. The children were ground transported to Sentara Obici Hospital with minor injuries.

All lanes of travel reopened at 1:43 p.m. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
