Jackie Sloan

FRANKLIN — On Wednesday, June 15, 2016, the Lord came and took Jackie home where she is free of pain and suffering.

Jackie Sloan was born on July 1, 1931, to John Johnson and Viola Yarton in Suffern, New York.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Jackie enjoyed bingo, crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting, bowling, riding on the back of her son and son-in-law’s Harleys and spending time with her family.

Jackie will always be remembered as being gentle, caring and giving. All those who loved her dearly will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm and grace.

Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, John and Viola Johnson; two sisters, Bernie and Bobbi; and her late husband of 46 years, Andrew Sloan.

Survivors include her daughter, Bobbi (Jim) Schuermann; son, John (Pam); grandchildren Andrew, Amanda, Jacqueline, Karissa and Austin; four great-grandchildren; and her dearest friend, Donna.

The celebration of life for mom was conducted on June 18, at 11 a.m., in Franklin Baptist Church in the Chapel, 208 N. High St., Franklin by the Rev. Steve Gibson.

We know you are in Heaven with Jesus, and Dad is holding you once again in his arms. Give each other a hug for us. We love you! Until we meet again.
