Southampton County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Wakefield man on Saturday evening after it was alleged that he and one other suspect robbed a residence in the 15000 block of Cottage Hill Road near Sedley earlier in the week. Twenty-three-year-old Sharod Woodley has been charged with robbery of a residence and the use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

“The female victim stated that while sitting in her car to make a phone call because the reception was bad in the house, a burgundy car pulled up to the end of the driveway and two male suspects got out of the car, one of which was Sharod Woodley,” said Major Gene Drewery, spokesman for the sheriff’s office.

As the other unknown male suspect allegedly put a gun to the victim’s head, grabbed her by the throat and dragged her from her car, Drewery said Woodley took a wallet containing $260 and a Victoria’s Secret bag containing a number of various items out of the vehicle.

The victim also reported that an unknown female was driving the suspects’ vehicle.

Anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the other suspects is asked to contact the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office at 653-2100.
