Sheriff’s office looking for suspects involved in robbery

On Wednesday evening at approximately 9:20 p.m., the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an armed robbery at a residence in the 15000 block of Cottage Hill Road near the village of Sedley.



A female victim reportedly went to a vehicle parked in her driveway to get better reception on her cell phone when a burgundy colored car pulled up to the end of the driveway. Two male subjects, one known to the Sheriff’s Office to be Sharod Woodley, exited their vehicle and approached the victim’s car.

The second subject grabbed the victim by the throat, put a gun to her head and dragged her from the car, subsequently slamming her to the ground. Woodley took a wallet containing $260 and Victoria’s Secret shopping bag from the victim’s car.

The victim reported that a female was driving the suspects’ vehicle.

There are outstanding warrants for Sharod Woodley, 23, of Wakefield, Virginia.
