Suffolk man turns self over to Franklin Police

FRANKLIN
A Suffolk man was arrested on Tuesday on a charge of shooting into an occupied home in Franklin, according to Capt. Tim Whitt, spokesman for the Franklin Police Department.

James Darcell O’Neal, aka “Poo,” turned himself in following a search that began Monday morning when the event allegedly occurred. The local police had sent out an alert they were seeking a suspect.

At the time, it was believed that O’Neal may have been armed with a .40 caliber pistol. Police described him as a black male, 5’11’ and 152 pounds, with a last known address in the 800 block of Nixon Drive, Suffolk.

Other arrest warrants include use of a fire in the commission of a felony, destruction of property, reckless handling of a firearm and discharging a firearm within city limits.

O’Neal is being held at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond.
