Deputies from the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office responded on Thursday afternoon to a two-vehicle accident in the 28000 block of Southampton Parkway.

“[The crash] had caused one vehicle to go into the median” said detective Camden Cobb, spokesman for the sheriff’s office. “EMS responded to the scene to evaluate everyone involved, but did not transport anyone for medical treatment.”

One lane on both sides of Southampton Parkway was closed for approximately 30 minutes while the accident was investigated and the vehicle was removed from the median.

“The driver of one of the vehicle was issued a summons for an improper lane change,” Cobb said.

Markings on the vehicle that had to be removed from the median showed that it was a Southampton County Public School vehicle.
